Cancellation and Refund Policy

Compassionate, fair, and transparent cancellation protocols during times of family bereavement.

⚖️

Legal Review Notice: This document reflects the operating and refund practices of KashiFuneral.com. As bereavement arrangements require immediate logistical outlays, this policy clearly specifies refundable and non-refundable categories. Business owners should review this draft with an Indian legal counsel before public launch.

1. Compassionate Policy Philosophy

At KashiFuneral.com, we recognize that bereavement arrangements can be subject to unexpected delays, family changes of mind, or administrative rescheduling. We strive to be as compassionate, fair, and flexible as possible while honoring actual third-party vendor expenses already committed in Varanasi.

2. How to Request a Cancellation

To cancel or reschedule an inquiry or confirmed booking, the customer or primary family contact must notify our duty coordinator as early as possible via:

Cancellation is acknowledged and effective immediately upon coordinator confirmation.

3. Cancellation Rules Before vs. After Confirmation

A. Cancellation Prior to Service-Provider Confirmation (Status: New Inquiry)

If a customer cancels an initial inquiry before mutual price agreement and provider dispatch: 100% Free Cancellation · Zero Cancellation Fee · Zero Liability.

B. Cancellation After Confirmation but Before Service Commencement

If an inquiry was formally confirmed and a deposit paid, but the family cancels prior to physical execution at the ghat: Any unused advance balance is promptly refunded, minus documented, non-recoverable out-of-pocket costs already disbursed to independent providers (such as vehicle dispatch fuel).

C. Cancellation After Commencement / Part-Completion

If services are interrupted midway (e.g., family decides to shift from traditional pyre to electric crematorium midway), charges are computed on a fair pro-rata basis for services and materials actually utilized.

4. Non-Refundable Items & Consumables

Certain materials cannot be restocked or returned once opened or sanctified due to Hindu religious sanctity and hygiene standards:

  • Antyesti Samagri Kits: Once the sealed shroud (Kafan), pure Gangajal, or puja samagri box has been unsealed or consecrated for the deceased.
  • Pyre Timber Logs Already Weighed & Stacked: Once timber has been hauled and laid on the ghat pyre bed.
  • Custom Priest Sankalp: Once Vedic Acharyas have initiated the preliminary Antyesti rituals.

5. Refund Eligibility & Expected Processing Period

Where a refund is approved by our billing desk:

  • Refunds are returned via the original payment source (e.g., UPI or bank transfer).
  • Expected Processing Period: [Refund Processing Period Placeholder: 3 to 7 business days].
  • A written digital refund settlement receipt specifying transaction details is delivered to the customer via WhatsApp or email.
